Class of 2014 Graduation

Graduation for the Class of 2014 is Sunday, May 18, 2014.

The Class of 2014's journey through medical school began with the customary White Coat Ceremony at the start of First Year and will culminate in the presentation of their M.D.s, and any other degrees or distinctions they have earned, at the Graduation Ceremony on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Warner Theater in downtown D.C. Each graduate may invite up to 8 guests to the ceremony at Warner Theater, but all are welcome to join us back on campus for a reception immediately following the ceremony. Graduation Week for the Class of 2014

Wednesday, May 14, 2014

Cap and gown pick-up from the Medical School bookstore. Ticket pick-up from the Office of Student Affairs in Med Dent NW114 beginning at 9am. Each student will receive 8 tickets and a bundle of parking passes.

Class picture will be taken at 12:00 p.m. on the steps of the Wolfington Hall Jesuit Residence. The rain location is Gonda Theater on Main Campus.  The class should report to the steps in their robes by 11:30 a.m.

4:00p.m. Baccalaureate Mass Rehearsal at Holy Trinity Church, 35th & N Streets, NW.

5:00p.m. The Master Teaching / MAGIS Awards Program in Gorman Building. A Reception will follow in the Lombardi Center. 

6:30p.m. Senior Awards Dinner, sponsored by the Student National Medical Association and the Minority Affairs Committee of AMSA, in the Leavey Center.

5:15p.m. Warwick Evans Awards Ceremony at Gaston Hall in the Healy Building. A reception will be held immediately following the awards ceremony on the 2nd floor of Healy Building. All Class of 2014 graduates and their families and friends are invited to attend.

10:00a.m. Graduation Baccalaureate Mass at Holy Trinity Church, 35th & N Streets, NW.

1:00p.m. Military Commissioning Ceremony in the New Research Building Auditorium.

Medical School Graduation Ceremony at:

Warner Theater 513 13th Street NW Washington, DC 20004

The venue is metro accessible and free parking will be provided by the School of Medicine at the following parking garages: 500 12th, Street NW, 20004 and 1220 E Street, NW, 20004. An official Graduation ticket will need to be presented in order to gain access.

9:45-10:15a.m. Early entry for pre-arranged special assistance seating. Tickets will be marked accordingly in advance of the ceremony. To submit a request for special assistance seating or other accomodations, please email medstudentaffairs@georgetown.edu.

10:00a.m. Graduates arrive with cap and gown at side entrance of Warner Theater, on the corner of 13th and E streets. This entrance will be reserved for students only, no exceptions.

10:15a.m. General Admission into the theater begins. Guests must present an official graduation ticket to enter.

11:00a.m. Graduation Ceremony begins.  

Reception to immediately follow the graduation ceremony on the podium behind the School of Medicine. Free parking will be available with ticket stub and parking pass, which will be included in each student's ticket packet. This is part of the hospital parking – Entrance 3 and 2 for lot 2 and 1.  Lot 2 has an elevator for wheelchair access to podium. 

For guests who do not have tickets for entrance to Warner Theater, a live webcast of the Graduation Ceremony will be available on the School of Medicine website, and everyone is invited to attend the post-ceremony reception on the School of Medicine podium, no tickets necessary.
