Description: This elective affords the student the opportunity for primary responsibility, under supervision, for the evaluation and management of the patient with disease processes within the genito-urinary system. This elective is designed for the student considering urologic surgery as a career choice and who is desirous of a more in-depth experience in Urology in order to assist in arriving at a decision as to whether Urology is the career he/she wants to pursue. The student will spend a week at Georgetown/Sibley, a week at Washington Hospital Center, a week at Veteran’s Hospital and a week at the National Children’s Medical Center. At the end of the elective you will be required to complete a 10-15 minute presentation.
