Business of Medicine (BOM)
Section: Student Groups
The goal of BOM's student chapters is to increase medical student awareness of financial challenges and opportunities facing medical doctors today and in the future.
Activities include guest lecturers, small group discussions, organized panels, and Q&A sessions. Speakers are recruited from local medical schools, business schools, private medical practices, hospital faculty and staff, and related businesses.
Topics covered include, but are not limited to, Reimbursement, Financial Planning, Healthcare Management Organizations (HMO), Medicare/Medicaid, Physician Income, and many more.
If you ever have questions about how/when you are going to be able pay back those enormous student loans, or wonder how doctors in your field of choice are dealing with money related issues then please get involved in the Business of Medicine.
