Welcome to the Health Policy Interest Group (Formally the Osler Garrison Society). The expressed goal of the society is to promote discussion in the fields of medicine, law, ethics, politics and business, especially in areas of those fields that relate to health policy. This year we hope to continue to bring respected speakers to Georgetown to discuss issues of health policy. Events will be announced through the group e-mail as they are finalized.

 

Prior Events:

Discussion of Tort Reform with Mr. Michael Moreland, White House Domestic Policy Council.

Hosted a panel of professionals working to expand coverage for the uninsured and underinsured with Dr. George Askew, Founder of Docs for Tots, Kevin Lucia, Georgetown Health Policy Institute, and Tammy Seltzer, Bazelon Center for Mental Health.

Stem Cells: Research Promises and Ethical Considerations with Dr. John DeSesso, Georgetown Professor of Anatomy, and Dr. Yuval Levin, Former Chief of Staff Presidential Bioethics Council.
