Career Development @ GUSOM

Careers in Medicine

The School of Medicine faculty could not encourage you enough to begin your career development investigation early in your medical school career. All GUSOM students should have received a Careers In Medicine log in code in the first few weeks of your first year.

If you have problems with your log in username or password, you may contact Dean Williams at williamj@georgetown.edu, who is the Careers in Medicine Liaison for the GUSOM.

Dahlgren Memorial Library

The Dahlgren Memorial Library has constituted a Specialty Selection and Residency Resource Guide for your use. It contains excellent resources to assist you. The library staff has long been known to be exceptionally helpful and receptive to new ways of serving future physicians.

 Specialty Interest Meetings

Look for announcements and clinical advising information also on MedThread, the school blog. Sign up for the RSS feed for your desired specialty! As you go to these meetings, be sure to take notes and record your experience in the Clinical Advising Portfolio(MAC USERS: Please try to save the Clinical Advising Portfolio to your disk; the "missing driver" notice that appears in your browser is a driver to fill the form out on the web, which is not how the form is being used. There have been plenty of MAC students who have been able to get the file to work just fine.)
