Description: This clinical elective presents an opportunity for the student to learn the nature and scope of this creative specialty.  The art, as well as the science, of plastic surgery is stressed, with emphasis on both reconstructive and aesthetic aspects of the field.  Attendance at all rounds, meetings and educational sessions is expected as a full member of the house staff team. Visiting students must have scored 220 or higher on the USMLE Step 1 to be considered for this elective. Completion of this rotation does NOT guarantee a residency interview.
