Description: This elective is designed with primary emphasis on the clinical aspects of pulmonary diseases, both diagnostic and therapeutic. The student is an integral part of the team and has the opportunity to work closely with full-time physicians in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine. The rotation will include 3 weeks of inpatient pulmonary consultation service and a 4th week dedicated to outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine. There will be opportunity to observe interventional pulmonary procedures including Bronchoscopy, Thoracentesis, chest tube insertion and medical thoracoscopy.
