Washington, DC . The trauma service consists of full-time trauma/critical care surgeons, three teams of surgery residents, and medical students. MedSTAR is the trauma admission and resuscitation unit with its own helicopter and transport system. The

Hospital is also located next door, linked with a skywalk to the main hospital. We have an excellent mix of blunt and penetrating Trauma (70%/30%). Besides the busy clinical services and in addition to the daily attending teaching rounds, there are weekly teaching conferences in Trauma and ICU. This affords an excellent opportunity in learning to care for the injured patient comprehensively.
