White Coat Ceremony 2021: Making Memories and History

The White Coat ceremony is always a significant occasion at the School of Medicine, but it was more so this year as the school welcomed the most diverse class of students ever in its 170-year history, as well as new Dean for Medical Education Lee Jones, MD, the first person of color to serve in that capacity. Pictured above: Jones presented a stethoscope to new student Aderonke Badewa (M’25) (middle), who was “coated” by her sister, fellow School of Medicine student Adedamola Badewa (M’23) (left).
