Diversity and Inclusion Strategy Coordinator
- Reserve rooms, coordinate technology, TESS support for ODI Events
- Analyze program evaluations for all ODI trainings and Health Equity Forums.
- Provide administrative support to Office of Diversity & Inclusions training and dialogue programs and Health Equity Forums.
- Design Website for program updates, recruitment of peer dialogue facilitators and recruitment of ODI interns
- Manage confidential records pertaining to the current cohort of GEMS students
- Manage confidential correspondence and deliberation review of the GEMS Admissions Committee;
- Manage application process of 2020-2021 cohort of GEMS;
- Conduct a Competitive Market Analysis on GEMS to ensure we are remaining highly competitive against other newly forming post-bacc programs in the market;
- Support curricular research efforts of Dean Cheng, Dean Taylor and Dr. Kaingo;
- Provide logistical support for calendaring meetings with approximately 40 GEMS alum who are now matriculated into GUSOM and partaking in the Journeys curriculum
- Design and revise outreach efforts on website to attract and recruit new applicants to GEMS.
- Organize and collect diversity data: Gather information and codify/benchmark Office of Diversity and Inclusion progress to date for accreditation review on behalf of committee requests.
- Draft and coordinate critical responses to diversity and inclusion national and international events. Working with ODI leadership, Georgetown Communications, draft school-wide messages to be sent out on behalf of Deans to address urgent and pressing situations requiring timely response. Examples include ongoing communication to address DACA student support efforts, crisis communications involving current events.
- Facilitate diversity and inclusion training of GUSOM students, faculty and staff. Plan and execute Fall and Spring Series trainings on diversity and inclusion topics and the intersection of intersectional identities and medicine.
- Collaborate on benchmark research for drafting ODI Strategic Diversity plan. Compile research on best practices in ODI and benchmark office progress to-date.
- Maintain strategic collaboration processes for a new Group on Faculty Leadership and Inclusion. Working with faculty affairs, benchmark launch of new diversity entity that supports diverse faculty members on campus and targets: visibility, education and collaboration.
- Devise Shadowing Campaign for First-Gen College Students who are Pre-Med on Main Campus. Work with the Georgetown Scholarship Program to identify and secure shadowing sites for up to 20 first-generation college students.
- Assist Director of Diversity and Inclusion with Recruitment efforts for the ARCHES Pre-Med College Pipeline Program. Pipeline program for 10 pre-med college students this summer, including outreach to pre-med advisors, engaging alumni ambassadors, and creating robust social media campaign to generate candidates to apply.
- At minimum, we are requesting the candidate have a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- The position also requires, at minimum, at least 1-2 years of working experience or equivalent.
- In addition to administrative duties and strong organizational skills, preferred qualities in an incumbent include: possess experience in the development and implementation of diversity and inclusion strategies and practices; knowledge of project management, presentation, public speaking, training and facilitation methodologies; interpersonal communication and human relations theories/concepts; trends and issues related to diversity, and intercultural competency learning programs; be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing and establish cooperative working relationships with diverse populations in the course of performing assigned duties;
