Core and Advanced Clinical Phases
The Core Clinical Phase is a 48-week period beginning in April of the second year of medical school where students will rotate through the major medical specialties including Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Surgical Subspecialties, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Neurology, and Psychiatry.
The Advanced Clinical Phase will begin in the spring of the third year (early entry into 4th year) and will consist of 4-week blocks. Students will continue to have three core required blocks including two acting internships (AIs) and a four weeks of Emergency Medicine.
