Welcome to the Office of Student Learning and Academic Advising at the School of Medicine. Our office aims to support each student’s unique learning needs and approach. Here you will find more information on the varying support services offered to our medical students, to include personalized learning consultations, peer-learning services, study skills and time management resources, and information for students receiving learning or test-taking accommodations.
To request a learning consultation with one of our learning specialists, including a follow-up appointment, please complete the Learning Consultation Request Form.
If you are an SMP or GEMS student referred to OSLAA, please complete the GEMS/SMP Learning Consultation Request Form upon request.
OSLAA learning specialists are assigned based on the content presented in the LCR form and learning specialist availability. Every effort will be made to assign students to a preferred learning specialist and/or one they have worked with before, if noted in the LCR form. For scheduled appointments, changes to a student’s learning specialist will only be made if a valid reason is expressed as to why this should be changed — otherwise, students are expected to attend their appointment with their assigned staff member at their designated appointment time.
