What is the application due date?
Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. EDT
How do I submit my application?
The CORE Program Application must be submitted online by 4:00 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
How do I submit my letter of recommendation?
Submit the CORE Recommender Form. Be sure to provide your recommender enough time to write a strong letter of recommendation on your behalf. Please note: Your recommender has until April 30, 2025, by 4:00 p.m. EDT to submit your recommendation. Your application will not be reviewed if your recommendation is submitted after the deadline.
How do I submit my transcript?
There is a section on the application for you to upload your unofficial transcript. If you have a PDF, you can upload it. If you have a paper copy, you will need to scan it and upload it into the application. You can visit your registrar’s office to obtain a copy of your transcript. If you attend more than one institution, you will need to submit transcripts from all institutions into one PDF document.
Please note: We will accept unofficial transcripts for the submission of your application. However, if you are accepted into the CORE Program, we will require an official transcript at that time.
What does the completed application include?

- Parent/Guardian Information
- Education with unofficial transcript(s)
- Resume (uploaded as a PDF)
- One Essay (uploaded as a PDF)
- One Letter of Recommendation
What is the GPA requirement?
There is no GPA requirement; however, students must be in good academic standing at their institution.
How many students will be selected for the program?
Thirty (30) undergraduate students will be selected for the inaugural CORE Program.
What is the time commitment and sample schedule?
CORE Fellows are expected to commit up to 10 hours a week to the program (six hours of synchronous/asynchronous sessions and four hours of independent/collaborative research)

6:00 – 6:45 p.m.: Weekly Team Huddle
6:45 – 7:30 p.m.: #ThrivingTuesdays Wellness Series
7:30 – 8:30 p.m.: Incubating Change Project Team Time
Wednesday:

Thursday:
No program sessions
2:00 – 5:00 p.m.: ODEI Drop-in Office Hours (optional or by appointment)
Friday:
No program sessions
My recommender has not received an e-mail requesting their letter of recommendation. What should I do?
Email somdiversityandinclusion@georgetown.edu with subject “Recommender Inquiry” and include recommender contact information and date you submitted the request in email.
Will the CORE program provide a stipend?
No. However, the program benefits include the opportunity to:
- Build connections with faculty, staff and students at Georgetown University School of Medicine,
- Gain insight on the medical school application process.
- Access to networking and professional development resources throughout the year.
- Certificate award upon successful program completion.
