When is the application due date?

How do I submit my application?
The CORE Program Application must be submitted online by 12:00 PM EST on Friday, April 8, 2022.
How do I submit my letter of recommendation?
Submit the CORE Recommender Request Form. You will need the name, title and contact information for your recommender. Once you complete the recommendation request form, an email will be sent to your recommender within 3 business days. They will be asked to fill out a short questionnaire and submit their letter of recommendation via Qualtrics.
We will provide instructions to your recommender on what to write. It is advised that you complete the recommender request form at the earliest to give your recommender ample time to complete. The deadline to submit a recommender request form is Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 12 PM ET.
Please note: Your recommender has until Friday, April 8 by 12pm EST to submit your recommendation. Your application will not be reviewed if your recommendation is submitted after the deadline.
How do I submit my transcript?
There is a section on the application for you to upload your unofficial transcript. If you have a PDF, you can upload it. If you have a paper copy, you will need to scan it and upload it into the application. You can visit your registrar’s office to obtain a copy of your transcript. If you attend more than one institution, you will need to submit transcripts from all institutions into one PDF document.
Please note: We will accept unofficial transcripts for the submission of your application. However, if you are accepted into the CORE Program, we will require an official transcript at that time.
I submitted my application and I did not receive my confirmation that it was received. How can I check the status of my application?
What does the completed application include?

- Personal Information
- Parent/Guardian Information
- Education with unofficial transcript(s)
- Resume (uploaded as a PDF)
- One Essay (uploaded as a PDF)
- One Letter of Recommendation
What is the GPA requirement?
There is no GPA requirement; however, students must be in good academic standing at their institution.
How many students will be selected for the program?
30 undergraduate students will be selected for the CORE Program.
What is the time commitment and sample schedule?
CORE Fellows are expected to commit 10 hours to the program (7 hours of synchronous sessions & 3 hours of independent/collaborative research)
My recommender has not received an e-mail requesting their letter of recommendation. What should I do?
Contact gumedcore@georgetown.edu with subject “Recommender Inquiry” and include recommender contact information and date you submitted the request in email.
Will the CORE program provide a stipend?
No; however, the program benefits include the opportunity to:
- build connections with faculty, staff and students at Georgetown University School of Medicine,
- Gain insight on the medical school application process.
- Access to networking and professional development resources throughout the year.
- Certificate award upon successful program completion.
