Description: This elective is on the Orthopaedic Service designed for students in the fourth year who are interested in orthopaedics as a career or a least would like to explore the possibility of making orthopaedics a career. One quarter of the student’s time and half of his/her effort will be directed towards formal and informal teaching conferences. During this rotation the students are expected to perform as acting interns with regards to patient management and preparation for surgical cases. Students participate in didactic sessions, teaching rounds, and conferences. All students have equal exposure to faculty in both didactic conferences and surgical cases.
