SNMA Region VI Meeting at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine

On August 29th, Georgetown SNMA attended the regional meeting at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. At this meeting we received updates about Region VI and were able to meet and interact with other members of SNMA through team building exercises. The keynote speaker was Dr. Lisa Cooper, 2007 MacAuthur Genius Fellow, Professor, Division of General Internal Medicine and Dept. of Epidemiology, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She spoke of the health disparities affecting minority patients and ways to research and reduce these disparites.

Region VI includes Georgetown University, George Washington University, Howard University, Johns Hopkins University, Uniformed Services University of Health Science, University of Maryland University, Eastern Virginia, Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, University of Virginia School of Medicine and Virginia Commonwealth University Schools of Medicine.
