Handheld Computing Requirement

The School of Medicine requires students to be competent in using a smartphone and/or other handheld devices at the point of care to answer clinical questions and for clinical decision support. Mobile medical applications and handheld computing skills are taught in several of the courses in the Journeys curriculum. Students are expected to use the devices, especially smartphones, also in their everyday clinical duties and on all rotations.

The School of Medicine requires students to own and use a personal IOS or Android smartphone from the start of the program and keep them updated as necessary.
