Immunization Recommendations for International Programs

• Malaria: No prophylazis, cover and mosquito repellent, treatment if needed
• Hepatitis A: Immune globulin just prior to travel
• Hepatitis B: Recombinant B series completed before travel
• Measles: Vaccine if antibodies not present
• Poliomyelitis: Booster prior to travel
• Tetanus: Booster within 5 years prior to travel
• Diphtheria: Booster within 5 years prior to travel
• Typhoid: Oral typhoid vaccine Booster prior to travel
• Rabies: Vaccine series completed before travel
