Each academic year we invite an array of guest presenters with subject matter expertise in financial
literacy, financial planning and student loan repayment for medical school students. Workshops will be either class year-specific or available to all class years depending on the topic at hand; notifications about upcoming workshops will be sent via the class email listserv and featured in our quarterly newsletters. Previous topics range from the importance of credit and personal budgeting to identifying outside scholarships and financial wellness after graduation!

Once a quarter, our students receive interactive newsletters from our office with information on upcoming events, financial literacy tips and tricks, scholarships, and a column from a financial expert with a different topic every quarter.

Current Students: if you are interested in an archived newsletter, please contact our office to receive a copy.

The Office of Admissions and Financial Aid offers virtual office hours for current students to discuss financial aid processes and concerns face to face with one of our Financial Aid Officers.

Current students: Our Fall office hours will be linked in this section once the semester begins.

  • M2 Workshops: We offer one-on-one and group information sessions for our M2 students. These meetings are required for all financial aid borrowers and overview the financial aid renewal process, M3 and M4 budget adjustments, upcoming financial considerations in the clinical and advanced clinical years, and a brief introduction to student loan repayment.
  • M4 Workshops: During their final semester at GUSOM, M4s are required to attend a series of financial planning workshops to prepare them for student loan repayment and financial wellness during residency. The Office of Admissions and Financial Aid also offers optional exit counseling meetings for M4 students to discuss their individual repayment goals after Match Day.
